トランプ氏はホワイトハウスで「（攻撃の）応酬をしている。もうやめることを願う」と語った。また、双方のことを「非常によく知っている。彼らが解決することを望む」とし、「私に何か役に立てることがあれば、そうする」とも述べた。
一方、米国務省はルビオ国務長官がインドとパキスタンの緊張緩和に向けた取り組みについて、サウジアラビアのファイサル外相と７日に電話協議したと発表した。
