［ワシントン ２８日 ロイター］ – 米国が仲介するロシアのウクライナ侵攻の停戦協議が停滞する中、米国のデービス駐ウクライナ臨時代理大使が６月に退任し国務省を去る。米国務省と米当局者が２８日に明らかにした。
デービス氏退任を最初に報じた英紙フィナンシャル・タイムズ（ＦＴ）は、トランプ大統領との意見相違が原因だと指摘。トランプ氏のウクライナ支援姿勢の後退に伴い、同氏が自身の役割に不満を募らせていたと報じた。
国務省の報道官は、トランプ氏との意見の相違が理由で退任するという報道は「事実ではない」と指摘。「デービス氏は、ロシアとウクライナの永続的な平和実現に向けたトランプ政権の取り組みを断固支持してきた」とし、「６月に臨時代理大使を正式に離任し国務省を退職するまで、引き続きトランプ氏の政策を誇りを持って推し進める」と述べた。
