8月18日（火）、2025年度の留学生の就職支援策として、三重県四日市市に本社を置く太陽化学株式会社のご協力を得て、企業見学会を開催しました。本企画は同社との連携により2年前から継続して実施しており、これまでの参加者の中から1名の留学生が採用に至っています。今年度は、意見交換を重ねて取りまとめたプログラムに、9名の留学生が参加しました。
On August 18 (Tuesday), as part of Mie University’s 2026 career support initiatives for international students, a company visit was held with the generous cooperation of Taiyo Kagaku Co., Ltd., headquartered in Yokkaichi City, Mie Prefecture. This program has been conducted in collaboration with the company for the past two years, and one participating international student has already been successfully recruited. This year, after several rounds of discussion and coordination, a total of nine international students took part in the visit.
プログラムの冒頭では、太陽化学株式会社の企業理念、確立されたビジョン、技術を基盤とするB to Bメーカーとしての事業内容、海外展開の状況などをご紹介いただきました。
さらに、R&D部門・生産部門・営業部門を一体化した人材育成策や、留学生採用の取り組みについても詳しく説明いただきました。
The program began with an overview of Taiyo Kagaku Co., Ltd. The company introduced its corporate philosophy, long‑established vision, and its position as a B-to-B manufacturer built on advanced technological capabilities. Participants also learned about the company’s global business development, integrated human resource development system across R&D, production, and sales divisions, as well as its initiatives for hiring international talent.
続いて行われた四日市市本社工場の見学では、素材がどのように生産されているかを実際の製造現場でお聞きすることができました。参加した留学生は、製造工程を間近で見る貴重な機会に強い関心を寄せていました。また、インターンシップの有無や自身の専門性と十仁対象の可能性など真剣な質問の場面もありました。
This was followed by a guided tour of the company’s main factory in Yokkaichi City. Students were able to observe the production process firsthand and gain insight into how various materials are manufactured. The opportunity to see the manufacturing site up close left a strong impression on many participants. There were also moments when students asked serious questions, such as whether internships were available and whether their own academic background would make them eligible.
最後には、太陽化学株式会社で活躍する本学博士修了生による講演と座談会が行われました。日本語能力の重要性、専門性を生かした業務内容、資格取得の状況、プライベートの過ごし方など、現場ならではの具体的な話が紹介されました。講演の締めくくりには「百聞は一見に如かず」というメッセージが送られ、実際に現場を訪れ、自ら体験することの大切さが強調されました。
The final part of the program featured a lecture and discussion session led by a Mie University doctoral graduate who is currently working at Taiyo Kagaku Co., Ltd. The speaker shared practical insights on the level of Japanese proficiency required in the workplace, how specialized knowledge is applied on the job, experiences with professional certification after employment, and approaches to work-life balance. The session concluded with the message, “Seeing is believing,” emphasizing the importance of visiting workplaces directly and learning through firsthand experience.
