[ブリュッセル ３日 ロイター] – 欧州連合（ＥＵ）首脳は３日、ブリュッセルで会合を開き、ロシアに対する欧州の防衛力強化策と、カナダ、メキシコ、中国への関税を決定したトランプ米大統領への対応について話し合う。
トランプ氏は１日、カナダとメキシコからの輸入品に２５％の関税、中国からの輸入品に１０％の追加関税を４日から課す大統領令に署名した。世界経済を減速させ、インフレを再燃させる恐れのある新たな貿易戦争につながる可能性がある。 もっと見る
今会合は公式な宣言や決定を伴わないが、地政学と対米関係が焦点となる予定。トランプ氏による関税政策が議題になることは確実で、ＥＵも近く同様の措置に直面するのではないかと関係者は懸念している。
トランプ氏はＥＵ加盟国のデンマークに対し、自治領のグリーンランドを米国に譲渡するよう求めており、デンマークへの軍事行動や経済的圧力をかけることも否定していない。
ＥＵ首脳は、今後数年間に必要な軍事力、資金調達方法、共同プロジェクトを通じた協力深化についても話し合うとみられる。
