[ベンガルール １３日 ロイター] – インド政府がスマートフォンメーカーに対し、新たなセキュリティー対策の一環としてソースコード提出などの義務付けを提案していることを巡り、プライバシー擁護団体や技術専門家から監視強化につながると批判の声が上がっている。
ロイターは１１日、政府がソースコードの提出やソフトウエアの変更を義務化することを提案しており、米アップル(AAPL.O), opens new tabや韓国サムスン電子(005930.KS), opens new tabなど大手メーカーが水面下で反対していると報じた。
プライバシーと言論の自由の権利を唱えるインターネット・フリーダム財団は「国家に機密ソースコードへのアクセスを事実上認め、何億人もの国民が日常的に使用するデバイスに永続的な制御機能を埋め込むいかなる制度案も強く拒否する」と述べた。
複数の関係者によると、インド電子・情報技術省は提案を巡るフィードバックや懸念について協議するため１３日に予定していた大手メーカーとの会合を中止した。
法律事務所パナグ＆パブのパートナーでテクノロジー法が専門のアカシュ・カルマカール氏は、携帯電話を動かす基礎となるプログラミング指示であるソースコードの提出を求めることは信頼を損ない、「ビジネスのしやすさを向上させるというインドの目標から大きく後退する」と述べた。
