——今こそ、私たちのコミュニティの力を集めよう
今回の「令和8年熊本地震」により被災されたすべての皆様に、心よりお見舞い申し上げます。
熊本が再び大きな災害に見舞われたことに、胸が締め付けられる思いでした。平成28年熊本地震、令和2年7月豪雨、そして今回の地震。度重なる試練に加え、今回は厳しい暑さの中での被災となり、避難生活を余儀なくされている方々の健康が心配でなりません。
私たちは、被災された方々と、現場で救援・支援活動にあたる方々のために、今できることを直ちに行動に移したいと考え、一般財団法人KIBOWの枠組みでこの寄付サイトを立ち上げました。
KIBOWは東日本大震災を契機に設立された団体です。KIBOWの活動の一環として、僕自身3回熊本で活動してきました。2016年9月17日、2017年4月15日そして2018年4月15日です。直近では、昨年9月に熊本の大西市長と防災に関してG1熊本で議論してきました。
今回も、KIBOW、グロービスグループ、そしてLucky Robotsグループにつながる皆様の力を結集し、大きな支援の輪を広げたいと考えています。

寄付金の使い道について
皆様からお寄せいただいたご寄付は、熊本の被災地域での復旧・復興支援に寄与するNPO、市民団体、株式会社、学校法人、および個人等への「助成金」として活用いたします。
被災された方々に寄り添い、現場の最前線で活動する支援者を資金面から支えるため、主に以下の4つの領域を対象として助成を行います。
１. 地域に「希望」を生む事業創造への助成
被災した地場産業や事業者の再建、地域の希望を生む新たな事業に取り組むリーダー、事業者および支援団体に助成します。第4回KIBOW熊本を開催し、復興に向けた機運を醸成します。
２. 被災者の学習継続・成長支援への助成
東日本大震災の時には奨学金のおかげで、被災地の方々がグロービスに通い、次々に事業やNPOを立ち上げました。今回も熊本の方々が、困難な状況にあっても将来への希望を持ち、学び続けられるための教育活動に助成します。
３.音楽文化活動への助成
能登半島地震の際に、KIBOWはGAPPA ROCKS ISHIKAWAに助成・支援をさせていただきました。今回も地域のミュージシャンの復興活動への支援・共同参画を通じて、熊本の復興に貢献します。
加えて、私たちの共鳴する別の団体に、支援をさせていただくことがあります。
また、被害の状況やその後の支援ニーズ等により、お預かりしたご寄付の全額を熊本での支援活動に活用することが困難となった場合には、残額を、今後発生する災害に際して迅速に支援活動を開始するための原資として活用させていただきます。また寄付総額のうち一定額（最大15％）を財団の管理費用として必要経費のために使わせていただきます。
なお、一般財団法人KIBOWへの寄付は税制優遇の対象外となりますのでご了承ください。
一般財団法人KIBOWについて
東日本大震災の3日後に始動した救援・復興支援プロジェクト「Project KIBOW」は、「希望」と「Rainbow」から命名しました。長期的に被災地を支援していきたいという想いから、2012年2月に一般財団法人化し、以下の活動を行ってきました。
現在は、被災地に限定せず、全国の「社会を変える」志を持った社会起業家たちに投資し、事業の規模化を支援する「社会的インパクト投資」を中心に活動しています。
1）「場」の提供（イベント）
被災地各地で、地域の復興を願う人たちが集まる「場」を作っています。地域の内外のリーダーたちが集まり、交流を生むイベントを定期的に開催しています。
2）寄付
これまで、約1400名以上の方々にご協力いただき集めた資金約1億円を、被災地で活動しているNPOや各地のリーダー達に提供しています。
3）社会的インパクト投資（KIBOW社会投資ファンド）
2015年9月にKIBOW社会投資ファンドを設立、これまで合計22社のスタートアップ企業に投資を行いました。現在は「KIBOW社会投資ファンド3号」（総額10億円）を運営し、未知・未解決の社会課題にも挑戦し、社会的インパクト投資を通じて社会課題の解決を加速させています。

“Overcoming Repeated Trials United for Kumamoto”
— Mobilizing Community Support in Times of Need —
My deepest sympathies go out to everyone affected by the 2026 Kumamoto Earthquake. It is heartbreaking to see Kumamoto hit by another severe disaster following the 2016 earthquake and the July 2020 torrential rains. As evacuees endure extreme summer heat, ensuring their safety and health—as well as the rapid recovery of the region—is our top priority.
To deliver immediate, practical aid to survivors and front-line emergency teams, we launched this donation platform under the KIBOW Foundation.
KIBOW was established in the wake of the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake. Over the years, I have visited Kumamoto multiple times to support local recovery efforts, including visits in September 2016, April 2017, and April 2018, as well as attending G1 Kumamoto last September to discuss disaster management with Mayor Kazufumi Onishi of Kumamoto City.
By tapping into the strong community connections built across the GLOBIS and Lucky Robots groups, we aim to expand our circle of support and restore the lives and livelihoods of those in the impacted areas.

Use of Donations
Donations received will be used as grants to NPOs, civic groups, corporations, educational institutions, and individuals contributing to relief and recovery efforts in the affected areas of Kumamoto.
To provide financial support to those standing alongside the people affected by the disaster and working on the front lines, grants will be directed primarily toward the following four areas.
1. Grants for Business Creation Generating “Hope” in Local Communities
We provide grants to leaders, businesses, and support organizations working to rebuild disaster-affected local industries, as well as those embarking on new ventures that bring hope to the region. Additionally, we will host the 4th KIBOW Kumamoto to build momentum toward recovery.
2. Grants to Support Continued Learning and Growth for Disaster-Affected Individuals
Following the Great East Japan Earthquake, scholarships enabled survivors in affected areas to study at GLOBIS, leading many to launch businesses and NPOs. Similarly, we will provide grants for educational activities in Kumamoto, ensuring that individuals facing challenging circumstances can hold onto hope for the future and continue their learning.
3. Grants for Music and Cultural Activities
During the Noto Peninsula Earthquake, KIBOW provided grants and support to GAPPA ROCKS ISHIKAWA. Once again, we will contribute to Kumamoto’s recovery through active participation and support for local musicians’ recovery initiatives.
In addition, we may also extend support to other organizations that share our values and vision.
If, due to the extent of the damage or changes in support needs, it becomes difficult to use the full amount of donations for relief activities in Kumamoto, any remaining funds will be used as a reserve enabling us to launch support activities swiftly in response to future disasters. In addition, a portion of the total donations — up to 15% — will be used to cover the Foundation’s administrative costs.
Please note that donations to the KIBOW Foundation are not eligible for tax deductions.
About the KIBOW Foundation
Project KIBOW was launched three days after the Great East Japan Earthquake to support disaster relief and reconstruction efforts. It was named after “kibou,” the Japanese word for hope, and rainbow. As a result of the desire to provide long-term support to the disaster-affected areas, KIBOW became a general incorporated foundation in February 2012. Today, the KIBOW foundation goes beyond supporting disaster-stricken areas and focuses on social impact investment, which involves investing in social entrepreneurs who aspire to change society, and supporting them in scaling up their businesses.
