2026年度三重大学「学生海外チャレンジ応援事業」の採用者13名が決定し、7月13日（月）、15日（水）に採用者壮行会を開催しました。
壮行会では、採用された学生たちが自身の海外渡航計画や、渡航を通じて達成したい目標、将来の展望などについて英語でプレゼンテーションを行いました。プレゼンテーション後には、他の採用学生や教員から「なぜその渡航先を選んだのか」「現在の研究内容とどう結びつくのか」といった質問が寄せられ、学生たちは時折言葉を探しながらも、英語で自身の考えや計画について説明しました。
また、渡航前の準備に関するアドバイスや激励の言葉も寄せられ、学生たちにとって渡航への意識を高める貴重な機会となりました。最後に、伊藤学長から採用学生へ向けて、渡航中は安全に十分に注意しながら充実した時間を過ごしてほしいとエールが送られました。
採用された学生の皆さんが、本事業を通じて多くの学びと経験を得て、一層成長されることを期待しています。
Thirteen students have been selected for the 2026 Mie University Student Overseas Challenge Support Program. To celebrate their selection and wish them success, send-off events were held on July 13 (Mon) and 15 (Wed).
During the events, the selected students delivered presentations in English on their overseas study plans, the goals they hope to achieve through their experiences abroad, and their future aspirations. Following the presentations, faculty members and fellow participants asked questions such as why they had chosen their destination and how their plans related to their current studies and research. Although they occasionally searched for the right words, the students made every effort to explain their ideas and plans in English.
The participants also received advice on preparing for their journeys and words of encouragement, making the events a valuable opportunity to strengthen their motivation and readiness for studying abroad.
At the conclusion of the events, President Ito sent the students off with a message, urging them to prioritize their safety while making the most of their time overseas.
We look forward to seeing the selected students gain valuable knowledge and experiences through this program and further develop both academically and personally.
※学生海外チャレンジ応援事業は、学生の主体的な挑戦を応援する、三重大学独自の海外留学奨学金事業です。支援の対象となるのは、自らの興味を広げ、専門分野を深める、学部での学修につながるオリジナルの渡航計画です。採用されると、渡航先や渡航期間に応じ、最大25万円の奨学金が給付されます（経済的に困難な状況にある学生には、さらに10万円を追加で支給します）。
※About the Student Overseas Challenge Support Program
The Student Overseas Challenge Support Program is Mie University’s unique scholarship initiative designed to encourage students to pursue independent and ambitious international experiences. The program supports original overseas study plans that broaden students’ perspectives, deepen their expertise, and contribute to their academic studies. Selected participants receive scholarships of up to JPY 250,000, depending on the destination and duration of their program. Students facing financial difficulties may receive an additional JPY 100,000 in support.
