[ワシントン ２８日 ロイター] – 米上院は２８日、トランプ大統領が議会の承認なしにキューバに対して軍事行動を取ることを禁じる民主党主導の決議案を阻止した。
戦争権限決議案を阻止する手続き上の措置をほぼ党派に沿った賛成５１、反対４７で可決した。
共和党議員らは米国が現在キューバに対して敵対行為を行っていないと主張。決議案を阻止する措置を提出した共和党のスコット上院議員は、トランプ氏が軍を派遣していないため、戦争権限に関する採決は適切ではないと述べた。
決議案の主要な提案者である民主党のケイン上院議員は、キューバへの燃料輸送を阻止する米国の取り組みが軍事行動に当たると主張していた。
