［ハランデールビーチ（米フロリダ州） ３０日 ロイター］ – 米国とウクライナの当局者は３０日、ロシアとの和平案を巡り米南部フロリダ州で協議した。双方が協議は生産的だったとし、ルビオ米国務長官は紛争終結に向けた課題を認めつつも進展に楽観的な見方を示した。
ルビオ氏は会談終了後、「（紛争終結の）難しさについて引き続き現実的だが、特にわれわれが前進を遂げたという事実を踏まえると、楽観的でもある」とし、「単に戦争を終わらせるだけではなく、ウクライナの未来を守り、これまで以上に繁栄する未来を実現するという共通のビジョンがある」と語った。
ウクライナの主権と独立を確保する道筋を築くことが目標だとも述べた。
米側からはウィットコフ特使とトランプ大統領の娘婿クシュナー氏も出席した。ウィットコフ氏は週内にロシア側と会談する見通し。
トランプ氏は大統領専用機内で記者団に「ウクライナは難しい問題を幾つか抱えている」と同国の汚職スキャンダルに言及。ウクライナとロシアは共に戦争終結を望んでいるとの持論を繰り返し、合意に至る可能性は十分あるとの考えを示した。
ウクライナ代表団を率いたウメロフ国家安全保障・国防会議書記は会談の冒頭で「米国はわれわれの声に耳を傾け、われわれを支援し、共に歩んでくれている」と謝意を示した。会談後にも「ウクライナにとって、ウクライナ国民にとって重要なあらゆる問題について協議し、米国は非常に協力的だった」と述べ、協議は生産的だったとした。
ウクライナのゼレンスキー大統領は、先週末にジュネーブで行われた米国との協議の結果が３０日にまとまることを期待していると述べていた。
