Argentina está consternada por la muerte de Salvador, un niño de 3 años, asesinado por un perro pitbull en la ciudad de Córdoba, a unos 800 kilómetros de Buenos Aires.
Argentina is mourning the death of Salvador, a 3-year-old boy who was killed by a pit bull in the city of Córdoba, about 800 kilometers from Buenos Aires.
Claudia, la madre de Salvador, manifestó que cuando vio la escena trágica, “ya el perro se lo estaba comiendo”.
La tragedia ocurrió mientras el padre de Salvador lavaba una camioneta en la vereda, en el barrio Villa La Lonja. Fue en ese momento cuando Salvador se alejó unos metros y se acercó hacia el terreno desde donde salió el animal. Claudia relató que había ingresado a la vivienda durante unos minutos para preparar la comida y que, al regresar, preguntó por su hijo.
“Prendí la hornalla, salí y le pregunté al papá por Salvi”, recordó. Según explicó, su pareja le respondió que el niño se había ido “a la vuelta”, algo que, de acuerdo con su relato, el menor solía hacer. Al buscarlo, la mujer se encontró con la dramática escena: “Me fijé y no estaba. Cuando lo vi, ya el perro me lo estaba comiendo”. El animal lo mordió primero en la cabeza y luego en el rostro. Aunque la víctima fue trasladada a un centro de salud local, no pudo resistir la gravedad de las heridas.
Mientras la Fiscalía avanza con la investigación, las dos personas que vivían en el terreno desde donde salió el perro permanecen prófugas, según informó la familia al Consorcio Internacional de Periodistas JMH.

Claudia, Salvador’s mother, said that when she witnessed the tragic scene, “the dog was already eating him.”
The tragedy occurred while Salvador’s father was washing a pickup truck on the sidewalk in the Villa La Lonja neighborhood. At that moment, Salvador walked a few meters away and approached the property from which the animal emerged. Claudia said she had gone inside the house for a few minutes to prepare food and, when she returned, asked about her son.
“I turned on the stove, went outside and asked his father about Salvi,” she recalled. According to her account, her partner told her that the boy had gone “around the corner,” something the child was accustomed to doing. When she went looking for him, she encountered the tragic scene: “I looked and he wasn’t there. When I saw him, the dog was already eating him.” The animal first bit the boy on the head and then on the face. Although the victim was taken to a local medical facility, he could not survive the severity of his injuries.
As prosecutors continue their investigation, the two people who lived on the property from which the dog emerged remain at large, the family told the JMH International Consortium of Journalists.

サルバドール君の母親クラウディアさんは、悲劇的な現場を目撃した際、「犬はすでに息子を食べていました」と話しました。
悲劇が起きたのは、サルバドール君の父親がヴィラ・ラ・ロンハ地区の歩道で車両を洗っていた最中でした。その時、サルバドール君は数メートル離れ、犬が出てきた敷地の方向へ近づいていきました。クラウディアさんによると、彼女は食事の準備をするため数分間、自宅の中に入り、戻ってから息子の姿を尋ねました。
「コンロに火をつけて外に出て、パパにサルビはどこかと聞きました」と彼女は振り返りました。説明によると、夫は男児が「角を曲がったところ」に行ったと答えました。クラウディアさんによれば、息子は普段からそのような行動をすることがあったということです。捜しに行った女性は、そこで悲惨な光景を目にしました。「見てみたら、そこにはいませんでした。見つけた時には、犬がもう息子を食べていました」。犬はまず男児の頭を、続いて顔を噛みました。男児は地元の医療機関へ搬送されましたが、重傷に耐えることができず死亡しました。
