[ワシントン ２４日 ロイター] – 中東情勢を受けて米国は２１日以降、米国民など約４００人のイスラエル出国を支援しており、近くさらに受け入れを拡大したい方針だと、国務省当局者が２４日明らかにした。
この当局者は「まだ対応能力があること、米国民がイスラエル出国を希望していること、また空域が確実に開放されていないことを十分認識している。状況は非常に流動的だ」と述べた上で、国務省が出国や安全・治安に関する情報を共有している対象は２万７０００人以上と、先週から２０００人増加したと説明した。
米国は２１日、米国市民と合法的な永住者・近親者を対象に、支援付き出国便の限定的な運航を開始。過去２日間で数千人が陸路でヨルダンへ、また数百人がエジプト経由で出国した。さらに数千人の米国人が船でキプロスに渡航、イランからも数百人がアゼルバイジャン経由で出国したと当局者は述べた。
トルクメニスタンは米国人の入国を制限していたが、現在は入国を許可している。
