クラリッセ・リスペクトルの傑作小説を原作に、1980年代ブラジル映画において女性監督の先駆けとなった重要作『星の時』が4Kレストアとして8月21日（金）に公開されることが決定した。

「わたしはタイピストで、処女で、コーラとホットドッグが好き」本作は、ブラジル北東部の貧しい地からサンパウロへやってきた19歳のマカベーアの物語。読み書きもままならず、世間知らずで恋愛経験もない天涯孤独のタイピストである彼女の小さな世界と、訪れる運命のときを描いていく。
原作は「ブラジルのヴァージニア・ウルフ」 （The Wall StreetJournal）「20世紀でもっとも謎めいた作家のひとり」（オルハン・パムク）と称されるクラリッセ・リスペクトルによる1977年の同名小説。日本では2021年に初邦訳され、第8回日本翻訳大賞を受賞し、大きな反響を呼んだ。
監督のスザーナ・アマラウは、9人の子どもを育てたのちニューヨーク大学で映画制作を学んだ異色の経歴を持つ、ブラジル映画における女性監督の先駆者。本作は、彼女が50代で完成させた初の長編監督作である。原作では謎に包まれたままの主人公マカベーアを描くにあたり、アマラウは「ただ“人生”を見ていただけ。自分自身の、そして毎朝5時に家を出るたくさんの女の子たちの」と語る。貧しく、報われない、社会の中で見過ごされてきた存在を、血の通った一人の人間として瑞々しく描き出した。
ブラジル最高峰の映画祭のひとつであるブラジリア映画祭で主要6部門を受賞、第36回ベルリン国際映画祭では主演マルセリア・カルタッショが銀熊賞（女優賞）に輝くなど、国内外で高い評価を獲得。「からっぽの彼女のみすぼらしい生の中に、哀しくも美しい詩情が浮かび上がる。いつしか、我々は彼女に心を奪われていく」（ The Washington Post）「この映画には、胸しめつける痛みと “啓示”にも似た特別な力がある」（The New Yorker）などと称賛され、近年ではブラジル映画批評家協会により「ブラジル映画史上ベスト100」にも選出されている。
また、名匠ウォルター・サレス監督作『セントラル・ステーション』でブラジル人として初めてアカデミー賞主演女優賞にノミネートされ、『アイム・スティル・ヒア』への出演も記憶に新しい名優フェルナンダ・モンテネグロが占い師役で出演している。
この度解禁された予告編は、鏡の前に佇み自らの顔を見つめるマカベーアの姿からはじまる。仕事をずる休みした彼女は、普段は4人で暮らす小さな部屋にひとり、シーツをウェディングドレスのヴェールに見立ててまとい踊る。「わたしはタイピストで、処女で、コーラが大好き」ーー読み書きもままならない見習いのタイピストである彼女は、仕事もうまくいかず、恋愛に夢をみながらも現実はどこかちぐはぐ。同居人たちにも「トロそうな顔してる」といわれる始末。しかしあるとき、占い師に「あなたの人生は変わる」と告げられる。果たして、マカベーアに訪れる運命の瞬間とは…？
