［ワシントン／チューリヒ １４日 ロイター］ – スイス政府は１４日、米国との通商協議の結果、米国がスイスに課した３９％の関税率を１５％に引き下げることで合意が得られたと発表した。これにより、米国のスイスに対する関税率は欧州連合（ＥＵ）に適用される関税率と同水準になる。
スイス政府によると、今回の合意の下でスイスは２０２８年末までに米国に２０００億ドルの投資を実施すると確約。スイスのパルムラン経済相は記者会見で、今回の関税率の引き下げでスイスの総輸出の約４０％が恩恵を受けるとの見方を示した。
スイス政府が発表した声明によると、スイスは米国産の工業製品や海産物のほか、スイスが「センシティブでない」と見なす農産品に対する輸入関税を引き下げる。また、米国産の牛肉５００トン、バイソン肉１０００トン、家禽肉１５００トンに対する無関税の割当（クオータ）を設定する。
これに先立ち、グリア米通商代表部（ＵＳＴＲ）代表もスイスとの通商協議で実質的な合意に達したと明らかにしていた。グリア氏はＣＮＢＣのインタビューに対し、合意の下でスイスは製造拠点の米国への移転を進めるほか、対米貿易黒字の縮小に取り組むと説明。合意には医薬品や鉄道関連機器などに関する取り決めも含まれると述べていた。
