［１日 ロイター］ – 米フォード・モーター (F.N), opens new tabが１日発表した、４月の米国の自動車販売は１６%増加した。好調なトラック需要が支えた。ただ、EV販売は４０%減少した。
自動車の需要は依然として堅調で、消費者はトランプ大統領の関税政策を受けて価格が急騰する前に急いで自動車を購入しようとしている。
フォードは４月に複数のモデルで数千ドルの値引きを行った。
ピックアップトラック（Ｆシリーズや小型車マベリックを含む）の販売台数は２３％増の９万９９５４台となった。
一方、電気自動車「マスタング・マッハＥ」は前年比４０％減少、「Ｆ‐１５０ ライトニングＥＶトラック」は１７％減少した。
フォードの広報担当者はＥＶ販売不振の理由として、両車種のモデルチェンジとディーラー在庫の不足を挙げた。
ハイブリッド車の販売は３０％急増した。
