［ワシントン １８日 ロイター］ – 米国家情報長官室は１８日に公表した「世界の脅威」に関する年次報告書で、中国は２０２７年までの台湾侵攻は計画しておらず、武力を使わずに台湾支配を実現したい意向を持っているとの見方を示した。
報告書は「中国は、必要なら統一のために武力行使も辞さないと警告しているほか、米国が台湾を利用して中国の台頭を阻もうとしていると見なしているものの、可能な限り武力を用いずに統一を実現したいと考えている」と指摘。「現時点では中国指導部は２７年に台湾侵攻を実行する計画を持っておらず、統一の達成に向けた明確な時間表も設定していない」とした。
報告書の内容について、在ワシントンの中国大使館からコメントは得られていない。
