[５日 ロイター] – 米軍当局者は、イラン南部の女子校で約１５０人が死亡した攻撃について、米軍が関与した可能性が高いとみている。ただ、最終的な結論には至っておらず、調査も完了していないという。米当局者２人がロイターに明らかにした。
ロイターは、暫定評価の根拠となった証拠、使用された弾薬の種類、学校を攻撃した理由など、調査に関する詳細を確認できていない。
ヘグセス国防長官は４日、米軍がこの事件を調査していることを認めた。
米国・イスラエルによる攻撃が始まった２月２８日、イラン南部ミナブにある女子学校が攻撃を受け、ジュネーブ駐在の国連イラン大使によると、生徒約１５０人が死亡した。
米中央軍の報道官は「調査中の事件についてコメントするのは不適切だ」と述べた。
ホワイトハウスは調査について直接コメントしなかったが、レビット報道官はロイターへの声明で「戦争省（国防総省）が現在この件を調査中だが、民間人や子供を標的にするのはイラン側で、米国ではない」と述べた。
ルビオ国務長官は３日、米国が意図的に学校を攻撃することはないと述べた。
学校や病院、その他の民間施設への意図的な攻撃は、国際人道法上、戦争犯罪に該当する可能性が高い。
