[ニューデリー ２日 ロイター] – 米アップル(AAPL.O), opens new tabは、インド政府のサイバーセキュリティーアプリをスマートフォンにプリインストールするよう命じられたが、これに応じるつもりはなく、懸念を政府に伝える方針だ。関係筋３人が明らかにした。インド政府はアップル、サムスン(005930.KS), opens new tab、シャオミ(1810.HK), opens new tabなどに対し、９０日以内にアプリ「Sanchar Saathi（コミュニケーション・パートナー）」をスマホにプリインストールするよう内々に要請。このアプリは盗まれた携帯電話を追跡・ブロックし、悪用を防ぐことを目的としている。
プライバシー擁護派などからは政府がインド国内７億３０００万台のスマートフォンにアクセスするための手段だと批判する声も出ており、インドのシンディア通信相は２日、同アプリは「自発的かつ民主的なシステム」であり、ユーザーはアプリを有効にするかどうかを選択でき、「いつでも簡単にスマホから削除できる」と説明した。
ただ、関係筋によると、アップルは同社のiOSエコシステムにとってプライバシーとセキュリティー上の多くの問題を引き起こすとして、世界のどこでもこのような命令には従わないと政府に伝えるつもりだという。
