[サンフランシスコ ２９日] – 対話型ＡＩ（人工知能）「チャットＧＰＴ」を手がける米オープンＡＩは、新規株式公開（ＩＰＯ）の準備を進めており、企業価値が最大約１兆ドルと評価される可能性があると、関係者３人が明らかにした。
史上最大級のＩＰＯとなり、サム・アルトマン最高経営責任者（ＣＥＯ）が野心的な計画を実現するために、はるかに大規模な資金にアクセスできるようになる可能性がある。
関係者によると、オープンＡＩは早ければ２０２６年後半にも証券規制当局への申請を行うことを検討している。また、予備的な協議では最低６００億ドルの資金調達を検討しており、おそらくそれ以上の規模になるという。
ただ、協議は初期段階で、調達額や時期を含む計画は事業の成長や市場の状況に応じて変更される可能性があるという。
関係者によると、サラ・フライア最高財務責任者（ＣＦＯ）は２７年の上場を目指していると一部の関係者に話しているが、一部ではそれより早い２６年終盤になるとの見方もある。
オープンＡＩの広報は「ＩＰＯは当社が重点を置いていることではないため、日程の設定は不可能だ」とし、「持続可能な事業を構築し、汎用人工知能（ＡＧＩ）の恩恵を全ての人に届けられるよう使命を推進している」と述べた。
マイクロソフト(MSFT.O), opens new tabへの依存度を下げる組織再編が完了した今、ＩＰＯに向けた準備は公開市場からの資金調達を急ぐ姿勢を示している。オープンＡＩの考えに詳しい関係者は、ＩＰＯを実施すればより効率的な資金調達や大規模な買収が可能になり、ＡＩインフラに数兆ドルを投じるアルトマン氏の計画に向けた資金調達を後押しすると述べた。
関係者によると、売上高の年間ランレートが今年末までに約２００億ドルに達すると予想される中、同社内では損失も増加しているという。
アルトマン氏は２８日、ＩＰＯの可能性について「今後必要になる資金を考慮すると、当社にとって最も可能性の高い道と言っていいだろう」と述べた。
ＩＰＯが成功すれば、ソフトバンクやスライブ・キャピタル、ＭＧＸなど投資家に大きな恩恵をもたらす見通しだ。
