[シドニー １８日 ロイター] – オーストラリアは１８日、２０３５年の地球温暖化物質排出量削減目標を０５年比で６２─７０％減と設定した。
アルバニージー首相は声明で「わが国は最大の公害排出国でも最大の経済大国でもないが、気候変動対策に対するわれわれの取り組みは、近隣諸国にとっても、豪経済にとっても、子どもたちに託すこの国にとっても重要だ」と述べた。
政府はまた、工業施設の脱炭素化支援に５０億豪ドル（３３億２０００万米ドル）を、また電力価格の引き下げ圧力を持続させるため、クリーンエネルギー金融公社（ＣＥＦＣ）に２０億豪ドルをそれぞれ拠出すると表明した。
